Donor Identification System Policy

Donor Identification System Policy

KEDPLASMA (the “Company”) utilizes a donor identification system (“System”) with software provided by the Company’s third-party vendor, Haemonetics Corporation (“Haemonetics”), to authenticate the identity of plasma donors for donor safety, screening, confidentiality, and recordkeeping purposes.

The System utilizes a finger scan that captures a unique series of characters which is securely disclosed to and stored by Haemonetics.  Upon subsequent visits, donors scan their finger on the System which authenticates the donor’s identity.

Donors’ finger scan data is used solely for authentication and verification purposes and is retained for a period no longer than 3 years following a donor’s last interaction with the Company.

Donors’ finger scan data is disclosed only to Haemonetics.  The Company does not otherwise disclose, redisclose, or disseminate donors’ finger scan data to any other person or company without obtaining further consent or unless permitted or required by law.  The Company does not sell, lease, or trade finger scan data for monetary consideration or other profit.  The Company stores, transmits, and protects donors’ finger scan templates and associated data in a secure manner consistent with methods utilized to safeguard other sensitive data.
